Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions outline the expectations, responsibilities, and boundaries for all services provided by Hope Therapy and Consulting. By engaging in counselling, supervision, or consulting services, you agree to the terms set out below.
Our practice is grounded in trauma informed, culturally responsive, and ethical care. We aim to create safe, respectful, and empowering environments for all clients, families, and professionals.

2. Nature of Services

Hope Therapy and Consulting provides:
• Counselling for individuals and families
• Professional supervision for Social Workers and allied health practitioners
• Consulting services across AOD, mental health, culturally safe practice, Children’s Contact Centre operations, and domestic, family, and sexual violence responses

Services may be delivered in person, online, or via telephone depending on suitability and availability.

3. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:
• Provide accurate and relevant information to support effective service delivery
• Attend scheduled appointments on time
• Engage respectfully with staff and uphold a safe environment
• Notify the practitioner of any changes to personal circumstances that may affect service provision

4. Confidentiality

We are committed to protecting your privacy and confidentiality. Information shared during sessions is confidential except where:
• There is a risk of harm to yourself or others
• There is a legal obligation to disclose information
• Information is subpoenaed by a court
• You provide written consent for information to be shared with another professional or service

All records are stored securely in accordance with Australian privacy legislation.

5. Fees and Payment

• Fees will be discussed prior to commencing services.
• Payment is required at the time of service unless otherwise agreed.
• Invoices for consulting or supervision services must be paid within the stated timeframe.
• Additional fees may apply for report writing, letters, or extended documentation.
• No dual relationships that may compromise ethical practice
• No communication through personal social media accounts
• No provision of services outside the practitioner’s scope of practice

6. Cancellations and Non Attendance

To ensure fairness and availability:
• Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice
• Late cancellations or non attendance may incur the full session fee
• Exceptions may be made in circumstances of emergency or significant hardship

7. Online and Telehealth Services

When accessing online or phone based services, clients agree to:
• Ensure a private, safe, and uninterrupted environment
• Use reliable technology and internet connection
• Understand that while all reasonable measures are taken to protect privacy, online communication carries inherent risks

8. Professional Boundaries

Hope Therapy and Consulting maintains clear professional boundaries at all times.

9. Complaints and Feedback

We welcome feedback and are committed to resolving concerns respectfully and promptly.
Clients may:

• Request a review of decisions or service delivery
• Lodge a formal complaint through relevant professional bodies if required

10. Limitation of Services

Hope Therapy and Consulting does not provide:
• Crisis intervention or emergency response
• Medical or psychiatric diagnosis
• Legal advice
Clients experiencing immediate risk should contact emergency services or crisis support lines.

11. Termination of Services

Either party may choose to end services.
Services may be discontinued if:
• The client’s needs fall outside the practitioner’s scope
• Safety concerns arise
• Fees remain unpaid
• The therapeutic or supervisory relationship is no longer effective
A referral to alternative services will be offered where appropriate.

By engaging with Hope Therapy and Consulting, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
